SIXTH DISTRICT LEGIONNAIRE OF THE YEAR
The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor a Sixth District Legionnaire who has dedicated his time and efforts for the aims and purposes of The American Legion, Sixth District of Minnesota. The rules provide that the application shall be submitted to the chairman of the Sixth District
Trophies and Awards Committee by May 10, 2023. Prior to the District Convention, the Committee for Trophies and Awards will select the recipient.
The selection of the Committee will be kept confidential until the award is presented at District Convention.
Applications may be submitted by any current Legionnaire.
RULES FOR THE SELECTION OF A LEGIONNAIRE OF THE YEAR
The selection will be made on the basis of service to the aims and purposes of the American Legion,
Sixth District of Minnesota.
Include all committee and elected offices held in the district organization. Criteria to be used in
making this selection will include the following:
• Service to the community, state, and nation,
• Service to God and the church,
• Service to the youth of our society,
• Service to fellow veterans,
• Service to the American Legion,
• Service to the Sixth District of Minnesota.
The District Trophies and Awards Committee will make its selection from the supplied written
narrative. No personal appearances before the committee will be permitted.
